Getting started

  1. Add your car. Name it, add make, model and the registration if you like. Or load the example notebook to look around.
  2. Note the parts. Read the number off the old part or the box, measure what matters and pick the system. Templates help.
  3. Log the fitting. When it goes on, log the date and mileage. The part is then marked as checked by you.
  4. Find it next time. At the counter or ordering online: search, copy the number, done. Export the list for a garage.

Questions

Does the app look up my registration or VIN?

No. You type in the vehicle details yourself. The app has no internet access and does not contact the DVLA, a VIN decoder or any parts catalogue.

Can it tell me which part fits my car?

No. It is a notebook for what you have found out and checked yourself – from the old part, the box, a parts counter or the handbook. The example data uses invented part numbers.

How do I search for a part number?

Open “Find part” and type a few characters. Spaces, dots, dashes and slashes do not matter, so “bd 2816” finds BD-2816-004. The search also covers alternatives, the number actually fitted, names, sizes, #tags and fitting dates like “Oct 2026” or “18/10/2026”.

What does “checked by me” mean?

It is your own mark. Set it on a part when you have confirmed it fits this vehicle, and on an alternative number when you have compared or fitted it. Logging a fitting that went on marks the part as checked automatically.

I have two cars of the same type. Do I have to type everything twice?

No. Use “Duplicate as new vehicle” in the vehicle menu, or “Copy to another vehicle” on a single part. Copies come without fitting history and every fit is reset to “not checked”.

Can I use kilometres?

Yes. Miles are the default; each vehicle can use kilometres instead (vehicle details), and a fitting can be entered in either unit.

How do I export the catalogue?

Vehicle menu → Export catalogue, or More → Export catalogue. Choose one vehicle or all, with or without fitting history, prices and links, and share or save a PDF (A4), a CSV for spreadsheets or plain text.

How do I move my notes to a new phone?

More → Data and backup → Share backup (or Save to folder). On the new phone install the app and choose Restore from backup.

Does the app send reminders?

No. There are no notifications. Open items – parts not checked yet, alternatives not checked, parts without a number – are listed on the Summary screen.
