Privacy
Privacy policy
This policy covers the Android app Parts Fitment Notebook (version 1.0.0) and this website partsfitmentnotebook.lol. In short: your notes stay on your phone. The app has no account, no adverts, no analytics and no internet access.
1. Who is responsible
The publisher of Parts Fitment Notebook as shown on its Google Play page. For every question about privacy, support or your data, write to [email protected].
2. What the app stores
Only what you type in yourself:
- vehicle profiles: nickname, make, model, year, engine, body, registration, VIN, mileage, notes and tags (registration and VIN are optional);
- part cards: system, name, position, OE / part number, sizes and specs, fit status, notes and tags;
- alternatives and cross-reference numbers with maker or source and your “checked by me” mark;
- links you save (description and web address);
- fitting records: date, mileage, quantity, where bought, an optional price, the number fitted, the outcome and a note;
- your own part templates, the settings and a change history per vehicle.
All of this is stored in the app's private storage on your device. There is no server, no cloud and no account; we, the publisher, never receive this data.
3. What leaves your device
Nothing automatically. The app has no internet permission and makes no network requests. It does not contact the DVLA, a VIN decoder or any online parts catalogue.
Data leaves your device only when you do it yourself:
- Exports – a catalogue as PDF, CSV or text – and backups (JSON) are created on the device and handed to the Android share sheet or saved into a folder you choose. You pick the app or place they go to; what happens there is governed by that app or service. Exports can contain the registration, VIN and prices if you entered them; you can leave prices out in the export options.
- Copy puts a part number or VIN on the clipboard when you tap it.
- Links you saved, the privacy policy, the website and the e-mail address open in your own browser or mail app.
4. Permissions, tracking and third parties
- No runtime permissions: no location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos/media, storage or notifications.
- No advertising, no advertising ID, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking, no in-app purchases.
- No third-party services. The libraries the app is built with (Expo, React Native) work locally on the device.
- The app sends no notifications.
5. How long data is kept and how to delete it
Your data stays on the device until you delete it: single entries, a whole vehicle, or everything under More › Data and backup › Delete all data. Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data. Exported files and backups stay wherever you saved or sent them; delete them there.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete on our side. You can still contact us at [email protected] with any request or question.
6. Children
Parts Fitment Notebook is not directed at children.
7. This website
This site shows information about the app. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, adverts or trackers, and loads no third-party resources. The hosting server may keep short technical access logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). As described above, the app's data is held only by you on your own device.
9. Changes
If a future version of the app processes data differently, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
